An alleged shoplifter has been banned from entering a number of shops across Northern Ireland as part of his bail.

Neil Francis Blaney (36), with an address at a Simon Community hostel in Coleraine’s Lodge Road, is alleged to have stolen over £400 worth of No.7 makeup and serum from Boots; items from B&M Bargains and a knife from Poundland.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday he was freed on bail and his conditions banned him from the three stores.

He has also been ordered to attend appointments with the Addictions Service in Ballymena.

District Judge Nigel Broderick said the defendant had a very poor record.
The case was adjourned to November.
