POLICE in Ballymena have an unusual new ‘recruit’.

A cat has been turning up the station in recent days.

The cat has been looked after and has been getting an insight into life at the Galgorm Road base, but officers believe the feline may belong to someone nearby.

The PSNI Ballymena Facebook page posted the following:

‘We aren’t kitten around with this post…

‘For the past week or so, we have been visited by this wee kitty. As much as we love having her around, un-fur-tunately we think she purr-haps might belong to a family nearby as she is very friendly and keeps trying to get in through the station doors!

‘If this cat looks fur-miliar or you have a feline you know who it belongs to, please ring 101 and quote reference number CC995 of 10/11/18. Feel free to share this post around to help us out!

PS sorry for the a-paw-ling use of puns.’
