Antrim man is accused of assault and possessing a golf club as an offensive weapon, court hears today

An Antrim man is accused of assaulting a man occasioning him actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon – a golf club – at the town’s Corbally Avenue.

Jake Eaglen (25), of Hawkswood, is alleged to have committed the offences on Saturday June 9.

He appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday June 11 where a police officer believed she could connect him to the charges.

Defence barrister Aaron Thompson said no application was being made for bail.

The defendant was remanded in custody to appear at Antrim Magistrates Court on June 12.
