Ballycastle woman fined £500 for possessing offensive weapon – a baseball bat – at the town’s Clare Court area

A Ballycastle woman has been convicted of possessing an offensive weapon – a baseball bat – in a public place in the town.

Louise McNeill (30), of Marconi Park, had pleaded not guilty but at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Thursday was convicted of committing the offence in the Clare Court area of Ballycastle on January 21 this year.

She was fined £500.

The court also issued a two year restraining order meaning the defendant is forbidden to intimidate, harass or pester a person or any immediate members of a family.

The defendant is also banned from going within a 100 metre radius of an address at Clare Court.
