A Ballymena man has been charged with fraud by false representation and concealing criminal property.

George Millar (61), whose address was given as Corlea Gardens, is alleged to have made a false representation on December 16, 2010, ‘namely, by taking money whereby promising to obtain goods in China with the intention by making the representation, to make a gain for yourself or another or to cause loss’.

He faces a second charge that on dates between December 10, 2010 and December 18, 2018, he ‘concealed criminal property’.

The case was first mentioned at Coleraine Magistrates Court on December 21 when the defendant was remanded in custody and it was adjourned to a court this week.
