A Ballymena man was disorderly when spoken to police about driving a car with excess alcohol in his breath in the Leighinmohr Avenue area of the town.

Aaron Kerr (21), of Princes Street, had his case dealt with at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday and admitted charges arising out of the incident in April this year.

He was ordered to do 100 hours of Community Service, was banned from driving for a year and was fined £25.

He was detected with small amounts of cocaine and cannabis.

The defendant told police he was only moving the vehicle a short distance.
