Ballymena teen had hammer as an offensive weapon at Cushendall Road

A Ballymena teenager has admitted having a hammer as an offensive weapon and also pleaded guilty to possessing drugs including Ecstasy, Diazepam and cannabis.

Declan McConnell (18) committed the hammer offence at Cushendall Road in the town on September 9 when he also had cannabis.

The other drugs offences were on other dates.

He appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday October 11 where his barrister was Stephen Law.

The case was adjourned to November for a pre-sentence report.
