SKY BLUE THINKING… Trevor has decorated his home in the run up to today’s big final.

BALLYMENA United super fan Trevor Robinson is up for the cup!

The 71-year-old supporter, who has followed the fortunes of the Showgrounds side for more than sixty years, was up early on Saturday morning when he posed for this picture for Ballymena Daily.

The Harryville man has United flags along with balloons and images of cups stuck on the windows of his home at Larne Road.

United take on Linfield in BetMcLean League Cup Final at The National Football Stadium at Windsor Park, at 5.30pm.

And to get in the mood on cup final day Trevor was up early this morning and was happy to pose for a pic for Ballymena Daily.

He told us: “I have been following them since 1958 and I am looking forward to today’s final. We have won cups before and are sitting second in the league.

“We have never won the league and we hope to catch Linfield.

“But we are still in the Irish Cup and we are in the final today in the League Cup.

“I have never missed a final Ballymena have been in, including one when my cousin Alec McKee was the manager.”

Another manager is in his thoughts today – the current United gaffer David Jeffrey.

“He is a sensation,” said Trevor.

  • Update: Ballymena lost the match 1-0 despite a spirited performance which saw fans stay behind at the end to applaud them off the field.
