Ballymena Vandals In-line Hockey Club are TV stars in Slovakia

THE Ballymena Vandals In-line Hockey Club are TV stars … in Slovakia.

A club spokesman told ‘Ballymena Daily’: “On Friday night 19th Oct Ballymena in-line hockey school had TV reporters from RTVS Slovakia.

“The reporters were over to see how Brexit might effect Slovakians living in Northern Ireland. But they were more interested in our in line hockey club and seeing how Slovakians living here are giving so much back to our community.

“Marek Krsiak the coach and chairman of the Ballymena In-line Hockey Club gives up so much of his own time to coach the junior and senior teams here in Ballymena as well as some of the other team players and parents.”

Inline hockey is popular in Slovakia.

The Slovakia men’s national inline hockey team won the silver medal at the 2008 Men’s World Inline Hockey Championships.
