Ballymoney man accused of sexual assault and voyeurism has case sent to Crown Court

Coleraine Courthouse

A man accused of sexual assault and voyeurism has had his case sent to Antrim Crown Court for arraignment.

Drew Cooper (57), from the Portrush Road area of Ballymoney, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Friday for a preliminary enquiry – the legal step to send a case to the higher court.

He faces six charges including four of sexually assaulting a female in 2016.

He is charged with, on a date unknown between May 31 2014 and January 1, 2016, recording a different female, doing a private act.

The sixth charge he faces is that he ‘installed equipment or constructed or adapted a structure or part of a structure’ with the intention of enabling himself or another to commit an offence under the Sexual Offences Order.

The defendant was released on his own bail of £500 to appear at Antrim Crown Court in September.
