Ballymoney woman’s Ballymena shoplifting spree netted over £700 worth of goods

A Ballymoney woman has admitted going on a shoplifting spree in Ballymena in which she bagged goods including clothing to the value of £712.84.

Elisha McAteer (21), of Eastburn Avenue, committed thefts at Tommy Hilfiger, New Look and Topshop in the Fairhill Centre and Primark, Superdrug and DV8 in the Tower Centre on July 30 this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday she also pleaded guilty to going equipped for theft with a pair of pliers on July 30.

Defence solicitor Denise Gillan said her client had a previously clear record.
The case was adjourned to November 15 for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
