The Mayor, Councillor Paul Michael, looks forward to Spooked Out at V36 with Emillie Murphy.

Are you ready to be spooked out in Antrim and Newtownabbey? Come along to Spooked Out at V36 at the Valley, on Wednesday 31 October from 6pm – 8pm.

All ghosts, ghouls, villains, vampires, witches and wizards are invited to join in the freaky, free family fun this Halloween!

The festivities will kick off with Rebecca McKinney and the Cool FM Roadshow, followed by lots of family fun and frolics! Join in the Halloween games and enter the fangtastic fancy dress competition, to win some gorey prizes.

There will also be face painting, bouncy castles and spooky characters to keep everyone entertained.

The evening will come to a close at 8pm when the Cave Hill will be a spectacular backdrop for a fireworks extravaganza*.

Access to V36 on foot will be by the main entrance, opposite KFC on the Church Road or, from the Valley Leisure Centre car park, along the footpath by the duck pond. Car parking at V36 is only available to blue badge holders.

Meanwhile, from Friday 26 October until Wednesday 31 October, funfair attractions, including for the first time in Newtownabbey, a fantastic panoramic Ferris Wheel, will be entertaining the whole family.

The funfair will open on Friday 26 October from 6pm until 9.30pm, Saturday from 2pm until 9.30pm, Sunday from 2.00pm until 9.30pm (‘Sensory Sunday’ session will be 2pm-4pm), Monday and Tuesday from 4pm until 9.30pm and Wednesday from 6pm until 9.30pm, with something for everyone!

Brand new for this year is ‘Sensory Sunday’ on Sunday 28 October from 2pm until 4pm. This is suitable for children and young adults with specific needs who require a more relaxed environment. During this time, the funfair music will be turned off, lights will be static and the speed of the rides will be slowed down.

Access to this session will be limited and by wristband only, to ensure the funfair remains relaxed.

Wristbands can be purchased at the funfair, from the Ferris Wheel booth in advance (see opening hours above), or on the day, which includes access to all rides. For details on ‘Sensory Sunday’, including prices and purchasing wristbands, visit www.antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/halloween

The funfair will also be open as part of the ‘Spooked Out at V36’ event, which is on Wednesday 31 October 6pm until 8pm.

Charges apply for the funfair rides and attractions, with cut price rides available on Monday 29 October.
