POLICE are appealing for information following a report of a second burglary within less than a week at Our Lady of Bethlehem Abbey monastery in Portglenone.
The latest break-in happened at 2.20am on Wednesday 30 January. A sum of money was stolen, along with a key.
PSNI Detective Sergeant Miller said: “This is the second time in a week that the premises have been burgled, with a similar incident taking place in the early hours of Friday 25 January.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal for anyone with information, or anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity, to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 63 of 30/1/2019.
“Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
Last Friday police said the monastery was targeted at 3.25am when a sum money was taken.
