‘Car chase’ man admits dangerous driving

A court has heard a man who has admitted charges including dangerous driving was involved in “a car chase”.

Anton Weir (26), of Drumtara in Ballymena, committed offences in June this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court on October 4 the defendant admitted driving dangerously on roads including Wakehurst Road and Liminary Road, Ballymena.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing Xanax; driving whilst unfit and absence of insurance and a driving licence.

A defence solicitor said the case involved “a car chase”.

The defendant was told he was being disqualified from the date of the court with the length of the ban to be confirmed when he comes back to court in November after a pre-sentence report is prepared.
