Court today: Alleged criminal damage case to be opened as ‘hate crime’

A prosecutor told Ballymena Magistrates Court the case of a man charged with causing criminal damage is to be opened as a “hate crime”.

Kevin Alan Henderson (27), of Rossdale Manor, Ballymena, is alleged to have damaged a window, window blinds and a picture belonging to a person on September 30 this year.

On the same date he is alleged to have damaged a front door belonging to another person.

The defendant appeared in the dock on November 29 and was released on £500 bail with conditions including an alcohol restriction.

The case was adjourned to December 6.
