A prosecutor said around 12.30am police on patrol noticed door staff at The Grouse were restraining the defendant who had been removed from the premises.
He was highly agitated, shouting and swearing and trying to get back into the bar.
He refused to calm down for police and when arrested a small amount of cannabis was found.
A defence lawyer said her client wasn’t supposed to consume alcohol because of the adverse impact it had with his medication but he took drink after hearing bad news.
The defendant was fined £250 and told by District Judge Nigel Broderick if he was back in court for drug-taking it would not be a fine the next time.
