A Ballymena man who had previously pleaded not guilty to stealing meat worth £40 from the ‘Iceland’ supermarket in the town changed his plea to guilty at the local Magistrates Court today.

Sherman Wright (46), of Devenagh Way, committed the offence on May 20 this year.

The defendant was in court where his legal representatives were barrister Stephen Law, instructed by solicitor John McAtamney.

Mr Law asked for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

Sentencing has been adjourned until later this month.
