Adair Arms
The Adair Arms hotel.

A man who had excess alcohol detected in his blood after a single vehicle road traffic collision at the Crankill Road near Ballymena had intended to stay at the Adair Arms Hotel but there were no rooms available, it was claimed in court.

Alan Richardson (59), of Lisboy Road near Dunloy, had the offence detected in August this year.

A defence lawyer told Ballymena Magistrates Court on December 20 the defendant made a “foolish mistake” to drive.

The defendant was banned from driving for a year and fined £300.
