THERE were emotional scenes as a carriage drawn by black horses led mourners through Ballymena on Tuesday night.

Well-respected Nora Ward, who was believed to have been in her 40s, died suddenly on Friday.

She was taken from Stevenson’s Funeral Home in Ballymena on Tuesday night in a carriage pulled by two black horses ahead of her Funeral Mass at All Saints Church on Wednesday.

Mrs Ward, who lived at Dunclug Park in Ballymena, was wife of Michael and mother of Mary-Ellen, Paddy, Rosemary and Charlie.

Her burial took place in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk.

Many tributes to Nora were paid on social media by family and friends.
