Garvagh man charged with assault, making threat to kill and possessing knife arising out of alleged incident on Sunday

A Garvagh man has been charged with assault, making a threat to kill and possessing a knife in a public place – Killyvally Park in the village.

John Crichton (39), of Killyvally Park, is alleged to have committed offences on Sunday June 17.

He appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday June 18.

Other charges he faces are disorderly behaviour and causing criminal damage to a t-shirt.

He was released on £500 bail to an address approved by police.

He is not to attempt to see, speak to or in any other way contact three people and he is barred from entering Garvagh.

He is banned from drinking and is not allowed in licensed premises.

The case was adjourned until June 25.
