A MAN has admitted possessing a knuckle-duster as an offensive weapon in a public place – Ballymena’s Broughshane Road – on October 6 this year.

James Thomas Ward (37), of Dunclug Park, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on November 15, where his legal representative Stewart Ballentine said the defendant has been “doing very well” in relation to a drug addiction.

The case was adjourned to mid-December for a pre-sentence report.
