Man admits having Samurai Sword as offensive weapon on Boxing Day

An 18-year-old Ballymena man has pleaded guilty to having a Samurai Sword as an offensive weapon on Boxing Day with intent to commit assault has been released on bail.

Stephen Williams, of Ballylesson Road, also admitted possessing cannabis on December 26.

He appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on January 24 via video link from Hydebank.

The case was adjourned to February 21 for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

The defendant was released on £500 bail.
