Man allegedly said: ‘Hand over the TV or get shot’

Coleraine Court

A man who allegedly told a male to “hand over the TV or get shot” has had his case further adjourned.

Robert McCamley (34), of Glenshesk Park, Portrush, faces two charges relating to August 1 this year.

He is accused of burglary at Glenbush Drive, Portrush, when a TV, mobile phone and £25 in cash was stolen.

The second charge is blackmail and the charge reads that with a view to gaining for himself or another, or with intent to cause loss to another, he made an unwarranted demand of “Hand over the TV or get shot”, or words to that effect, from the alleged injured party with menaces.

A prosecutor told Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday August 20 that the full file in the case is not due until mid-September. The case was adjourned.
