Police saw a driver who had gone to a petrol station in the early hours of the morning and then discovered he was on the road without insurance and no licence.

Peter Nociar (32), of Clonavon Road, Ballymena, was detected in the North Road area of the town in February this year.

Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine told Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday the defendant has now booked a driving test “in his homeland”.

The defendant was banned from driving for six months and fined £400.
