A man accused of stealing armoured electrical cables worth £2,700 has been found guilty in his absence at Coleraine Magistrates Court and an arrest warrant issued.
Martin Gerard Maughan (44), with an address at Forest Street in Belfast, took the items on August 5 in 2016.
The case had been listed as a contest but when the defendant did not show up it went ahead.
The court heard CCTV showed two males were involved in the theft and the owner said the incident had impacted upon his business.
Convicting the defendant on the evidence, District Judge Liam McNally said Maughan had quite a bad record for dishonesty, theft and burglary and an arrest warrant was issued.
