Man is accused of burglary with intent to damage takeaway and is also charged with having meat cleavers as offensive weapons

A man has appeared in court charged with burglary with intent to cause unlawful damage at a takeaway in Ballymena and also possession of two meat cleavers as offensive weapons with intent to commit assault.

De Chuang Pan (40), of Bedford Meadows in Antrim, is also accused of assaulting two males and making threats to kill them on the same date – January 11 this year.

The charges are linked to an alleged incident at the ‘New Panda’ in Henry Street in Ballymena.

The defendant appeared in the dock at Ballymena Magistrates Court and the case was adjourned to March.

No further details were given to the court.
