Man is accused of causing damage at hostel three days before Christmas

A man charged with damaging a headboard and sink at a Simon Community hostel three days before Christmas has been freed on bail.

Emil Palys (35), of Ballygallin Park in Coleraine, faces six charges relating to December 22 last year.

As well as being accused of criminal damage at the Simon Community in Larne he is also charged with assaulting three police officers; resisting one of the officers in the execution of their duty and he is further accused of being disorderly.

He appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court via video link from Maghaberry Prison on January 17 and released on his own bail of £500 to live at Ballygallin Park.

He is not to have any contact with the Simon Community in Larne or staff there.
The case was adjourned to February 14.
