A Ballymena man is accused of false imprisonment of a female and making threats.

Michael Wray (24), of Sunningdale Park, is charged with offences which allegedly happened in April this year.

He faces a total of six charges – false imprisonment, threats to kill, attempted criminal damage, threats to damage property, common assault and resisting police.

The defendant is alleged to have made a threat to kill the female’s father and made a threat to damage her father’s property.

The defendant appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on October 4 where a police officer said he believed he could connect him to the charges.

A prosecutor said further enquiries are being made in relation to the case.

The defendant was released on £500 bail with conditions including having no contact with the female and her family and he is not to be in the vicinity of an address in the Ballymoney Road area of Ballymena.

The case was adjourned until later in October.
