A court has heard a Coleraine man is accused of threatening to damage a female’s dwelling “by way of a petrol bombing” on July 11 this year.

Niall Samuel McIlmoyle (26), of Taylors Row, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday where defence lawyer Stephen Law made reference to the “petrol bombing” threat.

The defendant has pleaded not guilty to a charge of making a threat to damage property.

The case was adjourned to August 20 and as part of his bail the defendant is barred from entering the Waterside area of Coleraine.
