Man is accused of stealing clothes and groceries at Asda in run up to last Christmas

A man accused of stealing clothing and groceries worth £24 from Asda in the run up to Christmas appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday.

Daniel Racoti (22), of Galgorm Road in Ballymena, is also alleged to have had cannabis on December 20 last year.

The court heard the defendant was in the dock after an arrest warrant had been issued.

A defence solicitor said his client had been Romania for a time.

A police officer said she had no objections to bail being granted.

The defendant was released on bail of £500 to appear at Antrim Magistrates Court on October 9.
