Man is charged with having crowbar with intent to inflict harm on male in aggravated burglary in Ballymena

A man accused the aggravated burglary of a house in Ballymena’s Dunvale estate with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm on a male whilst having a crowbar as an offensive weapon was remanded in custody at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday.

Peter Victor George Kyle (31), of Dunclug Park in Ballymena, is alleged to have committed the offence on January 19 this year.

He is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon, a crow bar, with intent to commit an offence.

A police officer said she believed she could connect him to the charges.

A defence lawyer said no application was being made for bail as a suitable address was not immediately available.

The case was adjourned to Ballymena Magistrates Court on January 24.
