A Larne man who fled from police but was found hiding in a cupboard in an apartment has pleaded guilty to having cannabis.
Cody McIlroy (22), of Torr Gardens, had the offence detected on October 3 after a police patrol saw him and two other males at Linn Road in the town at 1.30am.
Ballymena Magistrates Court on November 22 was told a small amount of cannabis was recovered.
Defence solicitor Andrew Kinney said his client had been self-medicating with cannabis to help him sleep but has now got his medication changed.
District Judge Nigel Broderick said the defendant had a number of drugs related convictions and he said it needed to be addressed.
He put the defendant on Probation for a year with a condition that he must attend any treatment programme as advised.
