Noel Campbell: Disorderly in grounds of court.

A man with 317 previous convictions has admitted being disorderly in the car park of Ballymena courthouse.

Noel Campbell (59), of Dunclug Park, Ballymena, appeared at the same courthouse on Thursday and pleaded guilty to three charges.

He was disorderly at the car park at the court in January this year when he also assaulted a police officer and obstructed another officer.

The full facts of the matter have yet to be outlined to Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Defence barrister Neil Moore said his client was “of some infamy” with 317 previous convictions.

District Judge Nigel Broderick, who recently started working at Ballymena Court, said he was unaware of Campbell as he was “new to this parish” which prompted Mr Moore to add: “Unfortunately, Mr Campbell is not”.

The case was adjourned until July 19 for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
