NORTH Antrim Sinn Féin MLA has welcomed confirmation from the Department for Infrastructure that the full length of the Station Road from Dunloy village to the A26 has now been added to the winter gritting schedule.
Mr Mc Guigan said: “I am delighted with this news. In my opinion it has always made sense that the full length of this road should be gritted.
“I made that point at meetings with the Department last December and in subsequent correspondence, and after consideration and an earlier indication that it would happen I have now received written confirmation to the fact.
“I have been told that this is the only additional section of road in the Northern division to be added for gritting.
“So whilst that is good news the campaign for other rural roads, particularly on school bus routes, to be salted during the winter months will continue.”
