Following a 999 call police went to an address at Paradise Avenue in Ballymena and when they then smelt cannabis, £400 worth of the drug was located in a plastic bag containing 16 smaller bags.

Lee Robert Brennan (33), of Paradise Avenue, had the offence of possessing the Class B drug detected on October 7.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday November 29, a defence solicitor said it was a case of “simple possession”.

The defendant was ordered to do 75 hours of unpaid work.
