PLANNING permission has been granted for a new public park in Ahoghill.

The timetable has yet to be publicly outlined by Mid & East Antrim Borough Council.

It will be on land near the Community Centre and is believed to include woodland with wildlife, meadows and wetlands.

The plans include a woodland attraction with wildlife, meadows and wetlands.

A masterplan for the park was previously brought before Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s Operational Committee last year.

It included plans for a park plaza, café, boardwalk, natural play area, sensory and contemplative zones, a learning zone for children and adults, and a community art theme celebrating the agricultural heritage of the region.
