Speeder caught twice in two weeks

A man caught speeding twice within two weeks has been given seven penalty points and fined £210.

Mark Jones (57), of Walnut Drive in Larne, had offences detected in May and June last year when he was doing 49mph in a 40mph zone on the A8 and then 53mph in a 30mph zone at Islandmagee.

Liam McKendry was the defence solicitor for the defendant, described as a warehouse manager, at Ballymena Magistrates Court on January 24.
