Teenager is accused of having ‘hurley bat’ and damaging CCTV at Saffron Bar in Waterfoot

An 18-year-old has appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court charged with a number of offences including possessing a hurley bat as an offensive weapon and damaging CCTV at The Saffron Bar in Waterfoot.

Christopher Haggan, of Cullybackey Road, Ballymena, is also charged with possessing Ecstasy and cannabis.

He is further accused of assaulting a female and possessing counterfeit currency.

The charges relate to dates in January and February this year.

A co-accused, a youth who cannot be named because of his age, also appeared at the court on Thursday June 14.

The youth is charged with offences including having Ecstasy and cannabis; disorderly behaviour; possessing counterfeit currency; assault; possession of an offensive weapon – a hurley bat.

The cases were adjourned until August.
