Teenager given jail term for shouting at his granny

Coleraine Court

A youth who shouted at his granny at Bushmills Road in Coleraine has been given a one month jail term after admitting disorderly behaviour.

The October 22 sitting of Coleraine Magistrates Court heard Mark Burns (19), of no fixed abode, had already served the time whilst in custody on remand in relation to another case in which the charges have now been withdrawn.

Defence barrister Francis Rafferty said Burns had a “verbal dispute” with his gran on September 27 this year.
