A woman caught with cannabis which a prosecutor said had an estimated street value of £1,800, has been given a four months jail term, suspended for three years.
Nuala O’Neill (22), of Distillery House at Beresford Court in Coleraine, had previously admitted possessing cannabis.
She had pleaded not guilty to intent to supply cannabis but had previously been found guilty after a contest.
She was back at Coleraine Magistrates Court, on December 17, for sentencing.
Defence barrister Michael Smyth claimed the drugs were of a lower value and that they had been bought “cut price” as they were of poor quality.
He said there was no evidence to substantiate “commercial supply”.
