Yellow warning for wind issued as Ballymena is lashed by tail end of Storm Diana

THE Met Office has issued a yellow warning regarding wind in County Antrim today and the gusts began hitting Ballymena early as the town was lashed by the tail end of Storm Diana.

Winds could reach up to 70mph, it was reported.

Regarding Wednesday, the Met Office said: “A cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, the rain heavy and persistent at times. Very windy with strong to gale force southeasterly winds, with severe coastal gales. Very mild. Maximum Temperature 14 °C.”
